Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon Unveils Its 2001 Poster

CINCINNATI - (April 24, 2001) - The Power of the Pig just got porkier.
Cincinnati's favorite race, the Flying Pig Marathon, let the 2001 edition of
its poster series out of the pen in a special ceremony at Fountain Square.
Local integrated marketing firm CoActive Marketing Group, which does all
branding and design work for the Marathon as a pro bono project, gave this
year's poster a distinctly hometown twist that will forever tie it to the
beloved Fountain. The 2000 Marathon poster won Runner's World magazine's
Primo Promo award as one of the nation's best designs.

Two Flying Pigs made the new poster a reality by posing on the Fountain,
then showing off their running shoes as they raced to a special "Finish Swine"
for the unveiling. Representatives of the Flying Pig Marathon and CoActive
Marketing Group revealed a large-scale replica of the new poster design
before a large Fountain Square lunchtime crowd. The poster designers from
CoActive Marketing Group autographed two posters for winners of a special
drawing to be the first owners of the un-oink-ly Cincinnati pieces of art.
Posters from Flying Pigs past were on display, as well as other artistic
examples of the Piggy way of life.

CoActive Marketing Group has created the fun slogans and designs utilized by
the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon since its inaugural running in 1999 as a
pro bono community project. The winning poster from the 2000 Marathon,
printed courtesy of Zumbiel Packaging, showcased the year's symbolic
aeronautical pig running alongside Marathon participants. This approach was
utilized in all advertising and marketing strategies for the 2000 Marathon
Campaign. A similar fun and strategic approach was taken for the 3rd Annual
Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.
